What a hire doesn’t cover
Someone has to do the work when your person is on vacation, out sick or leaves. A full team covers those gaps, with CPA oversight on the books.

What the calculator adds up
Salary is only the start of what a finance hire costs. Payroll taxes, health insurance and other benefits, paid time off, software seats, equipment and a share of office space typically add 25 to 30 percent on top of base pay. That's the "fully loaded" cost, and it's the number to compare when you're deciding whether to hire in-house or outsource.
The calculator lets you switch on each role you have now or plan to hire (bookkeeper, staff accountant, accounting manager or controller, and CFO), change the example salaries to your own, and add optional recruiting and turnover costs. It shows the fully loaded cost per year and per month, role by role.
What a hire doesn't cover
Even a strong in-house team has gaps. When your bookkeeper is on vacation, the close waits. When your controller leaves, the knowledge leaves too, and a replacement takes months to recruit and train. One person rarely brings both day-to-day bookkeeping skills and CFO-level judgment.
An outsourced team gives you each of those skills at the hours you actually need, with backup built in and CPA oversight on the books. River Edge Advisors is a CPA-led team of 75+ serving healthcare, real estate, MCA and alternative finance, and venture-backed companies.
